Where do you build?
Kurk Homes currently builds in Northern Harris County, Montgomery County, and the Texas Hill Country. We have lots available in The Woodlands area, Lake Conroe, and Magnolia to build on, as well as in the New Braunfels area, with our recent expansion to the hill country. Whether you are looking for a wooded homesite, acreage, or a patio lot, Kurk Homes has the flexibility to build your custom dream home.

What’s the difference between a “tract” or “production” builder and a “custom” builder?
A tract/production builder offers the lowest pricing with the least amount of choices.  Most tract/production builders have a limited variety of house plans with your only options being color selections. A custom builder offers unlimited choice at a top dollar cost. At Kurk Homes, we offer an expansive list of options including home design, building materials, and custom amenities at an affordable price.

How long does it take to build a custom home?
Kurk Homes works on a 20-week build out program.  From the time we actually start construction, you should plan on moving into your new custom home in 5 months.

Does Kurk Homes offer a home warranty?
Yes!  Kurk Homes offers a limited 20-year structural warranty through Aces Warranty Company.

Can I or a friend install or supply products for my home?
Kurk Homes is a complete turn key custom builder.  We build under strict insurance guidelines.  The Texas Residential Construction Commission (TRCC) requires all builders to warrant their homes for 10 years.  Therefore, Kurk Homes suppliers and sub contactors must be utilized on your home.

What additional costs will I incur building on my lot, which are not included with Kurk Homes Standard Features?
A) Depending on the severity of the slope on your lot, you may need a compacted foundation pad.
B) If your building line is more than 50’ from the front property line, a temporary construction road will be needed.  Kurk Homes offers 50’ of driveway as a Standard Feature.  Longer driveways will cost more.
C) Each subdivision has it’s own set of requirements and has unique arrangements with utility companies and costs may vary.

What if I have to sell my house first?
More than 90% of our customers need to sell their home sometime during the construction period.  We work with some of the top realtors in the area and can refer the right realtor for you.

Does Kurk Homes offer financing?
Though we do not have “in house” financing, most of our customers work with our preferred lenders in order to get quality service and the best possible interest rates.

What if we don’t find a plan we like?
Kurk Homes does not believe you should have to settle for a builders particular house plan.  With Kurk Homes you can modify any plan to suit your needs for a nominal charge.  If you choose, our award winning designer will create a totally unique plan, designed from the ground up to fit your needs.  Working through Kurk Homes, the cost for a custom plan will be 40% less than dealing with a home designer directly.

How much does a Kurk Home cost?
Depending on the design of the home, most homes range from the mid $70’s per sq.ft. to the low $80’s per sq.ft., without the cost of land, but with all our standard features.
